It has been proven that the more you think about something, the stronger it becomes in your mind. If you spend a lot of time thinking about a specific event in your life, the strength of that memory increases significantly. Why is this helpful for us to know?
1. If we spend a lot of time dwelling on something, we aren’t really helping ourselves. The more you can distract yourself from negative memories, the weaker those memories become in your mind.
2. If we experience something really positive that we DO want to remember, it might be actually beneficial to ponder about it, or talk about it often, in order to maintain that happy memory.
I guess thinking positively literally does make you more happy.. since those are the prominent thoughts taking over your mind.
